Reading an LA Lot Before You Buy It
Jenifer Carvalho 2026-10-01
Buyers fall in love with square footage and views. Approving agencies look at setbacks, easements, slope, and fire zones.
Before you close on a lot, walk it with a checklist: recorded easements, hillside designation, coastal zone, historic status, and any prior unpermitted work. Each one can reshape the buildable envelope or add months to approvals.
Our LA Lot Potential Report does this research in writing before you commit. It has saved clients from lots that looked perfect and permitted terribly, and it has confirmed others that looked risky and were actually buildable.
